For this blend of Houjicha organic loose leaf tea, we have collected and roasted the stems and larger buds and leaves of the first tea harvest of the spring season.
The leaves were produced without using any pesticides or chemical fertilizers, then roasted with high heat to bring out a beautiful brown liquor and wonderfully aromatic fragrance.
Harvested mountain tea leaves have a nice fragrance and lingering taste, giving them a deliciousness that can be finely distinguished from normally-cultivated fields. Houjicha leaves also contain less caffeine compared to Sencha, making it a tea very accessible in the evening. It also has the effect of warming your whole body. And it's delicious served chilled too!
It is a widely popular tea for children and the elderly in Japan and uses such as Houjicha based lattes, sweets, and cakes are being enjoyed both in Japan and everywhere else.

The term "Organic" in its purest essence equates essentially to Organic Farming.
This production method is good for both the soil and global environment, making the most out of the natural elements, rather than relying on chemical fertilizers or synthetic pesticides.
OSADA TEA aims to make tea that lives up to this standard, and incorporate this philosophy into our business, as well as into the joy and satisfaction of our customers.
